Conflict Minerals Declaration

Silvertel Policy Statement for the usage of Responsible Minerals

As a designer and supplier of electronic modules, Silvertel is aware of it’s obligations with regards to laws and regulations regarding “Conflict Minerals”, specifically the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer protection Act, Section 1502, along with the guidelines set out by the OECD regarding the responsible mining of Cobalt.

Silvertel does not directly source or process conflict minerals such as Tin, Tantalum, Tungsten, Gold, Mica or cobalt. However these minerals may be included in the components we buy from other suppliers.

It is Silvertel’s goal to use Tantalum, Tin, Tungsten, Gold, Mica & Cobalt in our products that do not directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups in the DRC or adjoining countries, while continuing to support responsible mineral sourcing in the region. Silvertel expects its suppliers to have in place policies and due diligence measures that will enable us to reasonably assure that products and components supplied to us containing conflict minerals are responsibly mined. Silvertel expects its suppliers to comply with the RMI (Responsible Minerals Initiative) Code of Conduct. In support of this policy, Silvertel will: Exercise due diligence by contacting its component suppliers within our supply chain on a yearly basis for all current components to verify their compliance with the regulations. We are currently working with our suppliers to ensure that they are using smelters that are compliant with the RMI Conformant & Active Smelter & Refiner Lists
All new components will be verified as using compliant smelters from the RMI Conformant & Active Smelter & Refiner Lists before approval.

* Note March 2022
There has been a lot of activity/changes regarding the smelters regarding the smelter compliant/active/non compliant status recently.

Many of our suppliers have some smelters that are not listed on the Compliant or Active list at this time, although they were complaint/Active at the time of their declarations
They include leading suppliers like, On semi, Texas Instruments, Nexperia, TDK etc.

With so many suppliers affected, it’s impossible for us to change suppliers at this time due to many suppliers having some smelters that are not Active/compliant at this time along with the long leadtimes affecting any change.

We are therefore introducing an amendment to our Conflict of Minerals policy to continue using our approved and trusted suppliers during these extraordinary times. We will work with our suppliers to get updated declarations, with the aim of using compliant/Active smelters going forward.

Silvertel is committed to the transparency in the ongoing implementation of this policy by making available our completed RMI CMRT template declarations upon request.

    PoE-enabled LED Driver for Smart Lighting

    Now the IEEE802.3bt specification has been released, PoE has become more suitable for smart lighting. This new standard has added more power, up to 99W, but has also allowed for a lower standby connection. Silvertel is releasing a simple to use, but comprehensive solution for a PoE LED driver module. The Ag210 is a small module that provides the required IEEE802.3bt PoE signature, generates and regulates the constant current to drive standard LED units. This current output is configurable from 350mA to 1A. The module has an I2C bus input to control the flicker-free dimming output. This module does not require an electrolytic capacitor ensuring that the reliability and life expectancy is as high as the LED.

    Low Profile, High Power, Non-Isolated, DC-DC Converter

    The Ag7010 module is a high power Buck Converter Module optimised to work with USB-C (PD) voltages (9V/15V or 20V). It is a non-isolated product with a single, low noise, low ripple output capable of delivering 120W @ 10A. Conversion efficiency is typically 95% providing an energy efficient means of deriving the desired output voltage.

    The module is ideal for applications including Monitors/TV’s, Bluetooth Speakers, Gaming Consoles, 2D & 3D Scanners and Printers,  Routers, Network Switches and Modems. Other applications include as an end-point converter for distributed 12/24V for cameras, monitoring systems and industrial applications. The Ag7010 incorporates over-current/short circuit and thermal protection. Access to an on-board PMbus (I2C) interface allows intelligent control and monitoring of the supply. An Under Voltage Lock Out feature ensures that the module does not incur damage from ‘out of range’ input voltages. The Ag7010 is supplied in an extremely compact, lead-less  packaging format, designed to be surface-mounted thereby enabling efficient heat transfer. The Ag7010 is a flexible, simple to use DC/DC Buck Converter solution providing an efficient means of deriving a stable, high power, low noise supply to your product. Coupled with intelligent control and monitoring the Ag7010 provides cost-effective, feature-rich functionality.
